Day 29: Humbling messages of gratitude at the library

I visited our local library this morning and was inspired and humbled by the hundreds of messages people had written on the “Date Due For Gratitude” wall.  The library was daily refuge for thousands of people without power after the storm and the wall became full with beautiful messages of hope, faith, love and gratitude for many of the things we might otherwise take for granted in our busy lives.

Here are some of the images…

What are you grateful for today?

  1. Today, I am grateful for watching Amelie and Anabella run a practice 5k in preparation for their race next week. I am grateful to have had the time to spend with Coco and i am also grateful for the delicious lunch after the practice at Arturo’s with our good friends.

  2. I am grateful just to have another day. I’m thankful for my mother whose birthday recently passed, she is the most dedicated and hardworking and loving person I know, and I know I wouldn’t be here without her. I’m thankful for my father who works 12 hours a day 7 days a week so he can provide for his family and send his three children to college. I’m grateful for my sister who flew up to New Jersey from Georgia just so my mother wouldn’t have to spend her birthday without any of her children. And I’m grateful to be able to able to go to the same college as my other sister whose always there to help and support me. I hope everyone is as blessed as I am.

  3. Grateful for Sundays…in my family Sunday is when we all get together and have a BIG family dinner. Even though some family members are struggling with the storm aftermath, they still have a smile on their face and demonstrate unconditional love and are willing to help others who need it. Today I am grateful for my family. I am truly blessed to have amazing family members…from parents to grandparents to aunts, uncles, and cousins!
